School Electronics Recycling in Michigan

School and District-Wide Pickups

Michigan Electronic Recycling collects retired electronics from Michigan schools, including computers, laptops, monitors, printers, servers, and peripherals. We coordinate multi-building pickups and work around summer breaks and school schedules. Scheduling well in advance gives us the best opportunity to accommodate your preferred dates.

Our team removed 24 pallets of mixed electronics from Chippewa Valley School District. The project covered labor, palletizing, hauling, unloading, sorting, wiping, counting, and certification.

Data Sanitization and School Inventory Records

We use Aiken PXE-based sanitization for compatible computers and Active@ KillDisk, with licensing for 45 simultaneous wipes. Equipment that cannot boot can be processed with standalone wiping machines or physical destruction. Our sanitization and destruction services follow NIST SP 800-88 guidance and include certificates of data destruction.

Typical school reporting includes a serialized list of equipment bearing data or a serial number, plus general counts of peripherals and non-serialized devices. Documentation is tailored to the agreed project requirements.

Bulk Drive Pricing and Equipment Recovery

Typical bulk school pricing is $3 per drive for logical sanitization using Aiken or Active@ KillDisk, or $5 per drive for physical shredding. Both include serialized documentation. Request a project quote to confirm scope and total costs.

Reusable equipment can offset project costs. Well-equipped 10th-generation or newer computers may contribute recovery value; older end-of-life equipment, including 7th-generation and earlier systems, generally does not. Value depends on condition and specifications.

CRT televisions may carry a charge depending on quantity. Include them in your equipment list so we can confirm pricing before pickup.
